As Far as I Remember, I've Always Been Here

We spin furiously in passion and confusion, with intention and misdirection, never quite understanding why.

We create landscapes of moments and emotions, witnesses to something monumental and irrelevant.

Life, is the constant chafing of time and space.

As Far as I Remember, I've Always Been Here celebrates our participation of life. It's an interactive installation attempting to represent the unrepresentable; ever-changing existence and the activity found therein. It is about bringing different people's [mis]understandings and meanings together in a single moment; a simple gentle gesture in the face of such an inexhaustible subject.

The wax blocks, as with anything transient in life, melt and are replaced; there is no higher or lower meaning to this, it is simply an endless cycle that, in its unapologetic absurdity, continues to provide us with reason to participate.

  • Perfection doesn't particularly arouse my interest; organic oddities are far more intriguing to me. Through working on a project, I find and develop an intimacy and curiosity to those imperfect, and yet somehow perfect, things. Nature and space are two main creative inspirations and they reflect a subtle beauty and poetry in my work. Using different media such as photography, illustration, collage, and installation, my method of making serves as an echo of the everyday and embeds an imagination in seemingly insignificant objects.
