When people go through emotional transitions in their lives, such as getting married, having a baby, moving homes or even losing a parent, they usually need to hit the refresh button for their physical space to help refresh their views on life. As the space in people’s homes increases significantly, the clutter seems to increase proportionally with the extra available space. reFRESH LIFE is a personal service that helps people through this journey with their physical surrounding. It allows them to organise their homes to find hidden treasures, access their belongings and give new life to what they no longer need. Hence, increasing the values of objects by sharing their stories, being able to use them or even giving them to someone who will appreciate them more. Organising the spaces that people live in increases the quality of their lives by lifting their confidence in themselves and their homes.

My background is in business administration, and I was previously at the Centre of Design Innovation, Qatar Foundation. I have chosen to study Service Design because I believe that it can magnify my existing knowledge in business by building an understanding of how innovation can add value to business. Within the context if Qatar, there is great potential for service design as it is a new concept that is starting to emerge in the region. I plan to take what I learn at the Royal College of Art to Qatar, and develop that knowledge by applying it in a new context.
