Aesthetics of Appearing
The aesthetics of appearing speculates how an architecture can place itself within the unique arctic landscape of Greenland, where land cannot be owned, and the surroundings are constantly changing. By facilitating a different way of perceiving and thinking about the architectural space of Nuuk, the design seeks to become more than just a practical solution to inhabiting a hostile and beautiful landscape.
The transient installation on the Ukkusissat mountain seeks to capture a simultaneity of moments within the landscape, thereby allowing Nuuk to grow in accordance with the specific spatial conditions of Greenland.
