ADS4: Immortality

By 2033 the number of people in the UK aged 85 and over is projected to reach 3.2 million, and with auto-immune diseases affecting one in every three, the NHS is increasingly under strain.

As the water level of the Thames rises, the Thames Barrier is no longer sufficient to protect central London.

High-tech flood engineering allows low-alert floodplains to serve as controlled breeding grounds for parasites; the control and harvesting of the floods and their parasites offering biophilic comfort to an ageing population and a society living in ecological fear.
