ADS 4: Westminster Housing
Don't Panic!
We are living in anxious times as we become increasingly paranoid about our survival. Can architecture replace our dependency on Prozac to prepare us for the future? Will a home need to act as a shelter from the uncertainties of natural disaster, crime, terrorism or infection in London in 2029? So what if housing marketed in Westminster, acted as a mental health placebo to relieve anxiety for the future workforce? Here architecture is used to orchestrate and protect from disaster scenarios, yet in turn it creates an environment that prescribes doses of calm, retreat for its users.
