Collective Library
The projects maps and catalogues the books of propriety of the students laying on the desks in the studio spaces of the Stevens Building, Royal College of Art, in order to create a collection parallel to the library. The idea explores the possibility of a liquid collection, curated spontaneously by the particular interests of every participating member coming together, constantly changing as old book owners are replaced by new students.Â
The interaction between readers encourages critical dialogue and collaboration between students in different studios, but it also offers a snapshot of the multiple and diverse cultural background that inspires RCA artist and designers in their creative processes.Â

Hi, the name is Lorenzo, I'm an Italian/American designer and I reeeeeally like books.
My work concentrates mainly in publishing and editorial design, questioning not only the form of the book but the whole process behind its production. Lately I have been looking a lot at copyright and public domain texts, trying to exploit the potential of forgotten or underused content. I read all I design, so I try to work on topics I am interested in. Luckily enough, that includes pretty much everything.
Web design is also becoming an important part of my practice, as I believe that content being stored on new supports opens up for new possibilities and designs.
