MA work
MA work
My work is led by an interest in the intersection between art and other realms of agency, such as the social and the political. I am fascinated by the potential for art to act as catalyst for a variety of experiences, and to form a collective or shared understanding.

My research interests have centred on the reception and dissemination of art from Africa and the diaspora, with a particular interest in contemporary African art practice that deals critically with multiples of contemporary existence.

Alongside my studies at RCA, I have completed a two-year placement as Assistant Curator at Turner Contemporary. My role has evolved over the course of the two years from managing a number of off-site projects to working with a new team to realise the completion and opening of the new gallery building. I have also worked alongside the curatorial team on the opening and second exhibitions, and assisted with the public programme.

I have been working as Adjunct Assistant Curator at the Centre for Contemporary Art, Lagos, since 2009. Aside from curating for the public programme, I contribute regularly to the newsletter and in June 2011 will be a guest speaker, addressing ‘Other Possible Worlds: Proposals this side of Utopia’ on behalf of CCA, Lagos.

Host organisation: Turner Contemporary, Margate
