Lisa Hjelm

MA work

My vision of fashion is the fusion of comfort and 'wearability' with statement-making clothing. It captures the juxtaposition of normality with the unusual and fuses a functional and structured approach with graphic shapes and patterns.

I believe the future of womenswear will be a combination of advanced technical clothing and haute couture. Performance fabrics and techniques within sportswear will crossover into the fashion mainstream. My collection projects into this future. I combine silks, wools and cottons with performance and technical fabrics. The finishes combine the advanced and traditional, creating a look that is distinctly couture with sportswear attributes.
