Time is at the essence of change. Movement is an aspect of life. If something is still is it dead? Is the photograph showing the ‘gone’ of that past moment? Moving from one place to another, my mother is barely caught by the pin-hole camera during the long exposure. Allowing my mother to pass through time, I free her from the death register of the frozen image. In the garden she is in her world moving beyond time. She is between presence and absence through the photographic record. Life brings death, light brings darkness and memory brings loss. Time moves between and beyond.
