I like to play with ideas of preciousness and adornment. Giving life to undervalued materials allows me to explore the longer lasting qualities inherent in traditional jewellery.
I am drawn to natural forms that lend themselves to disparity where repetition and movement have become a resounding part of my visual language. The trembling of a flower petal in the breeze is valued in the same light as the sparkling of a rare diamond secured in a display case.
Jewellery frames ideals of beauty and beauty can be found in the process of turning the disregarded into the intriguing. It is in these contrasting natures that I am interested in making small comments on materiality and drawing attention to the overlooked.
