MA work
This collection of contemporary fashion prints communicates my passion for pattern, colour and composition. ‘Ergonomically engineered’ placement and, conversely, ‘non-placement’ printing has been a concept I have been challenging at the RCA. Floral imagery is prevalent in much of my work, although aesthetic references to painted textiles within Henri Matisse’s interior scenes have also offered colour and print inspiration, broadening my research and strengthening my concept. The tension between experimental materials, such as embossed leather, heat-bonded neoprene and digitally printed silk, act as vehicles to display my developing personal sense of design and distinct handwriting.
