In the wake of arts cuts, university fee rises, gentrification and the death of the High Street, the creative class becomes the catalyst for a new kind of local.

The project aims to critique the ‘insert gallery’ model of regeneration, instead using manufacture as a public theatre of activity. The Hackney Factory, a closed loop of recycling, micro-factories and market forum proposes a new micro-community model built on urban mining.
