BELIEVE ME

Sensation is where two different materials meet, it emanates from the moment of touching. Sensations emerge from the momentary lapses between objects—lapses where they touch one another—they are triggered by actions that happen in-between.

The world consists of complex meeting (or touching) points among complex beings. Things are intermingled in a relationship of touchable or untouchable matters such as: the materiality of objects, social structures, systems, movements, organic compositions, or what we call nature (including the weather, raindrops, radio waves, dust, etc.)

    MA Sculpture, 2017

  • I am interested in materials which contain mimicry, illusion, attraction and fantasy. I relate these to the social structures and mass-production of late capital.

I work with installation, sculpture and familiar objects, within their architectural context.  This creates a dialogue between the space and the object's material and philosophical layers. This enables the audience to enter the shared boundary between interior and exterior; to challenge the status of the objects themselves.

In my placement of objects, I estrange them from their familiar context. Thus isolating and separating them from their meaning, I am engaged with questioning the historical embodiment of the everyday object, and the effect of this on contemporary lifestyle.
