The Bell & Ping - Improving the Experience of the Sharing Economy
The Bell
A smart doorbell to welcome your visitors without changing your plans.
The Bell is a connected doorbell improving the communication between hosts renting out their apartments with flat sharing services like Airbnb and their visitors. It ensures the host delivers a great experience for his visitors whilst not having to adjust his daily schedule to the flat sharing service. Visitors are given a clear indication of what to do upon arrival and will not face situations in which they might not be able to contact the host and enter the apartment due to delays or no signal on their mobile phones.
Ping
Guidance for your shared home.
Ping is a tool improving the communication between hosts who are renting out their flats using flat sharing services like Airbnb and their visiting guests. It is meant to provide better guidance and a more personal communication within the flat in the absence of the host. Using Ping hosts are able to build a highly specific and individualised digital guest book which contains important and necessary information about the flat itself, as well as personal recommendations regarding the local area. Ping consists of several tag objects which are placed around the flat by the host to build a network of contextualised entry points into the guest book. These tags can be tapped by the guests with their smartphones which takes them online to the information which matters in the particular area of the flat.

Digital innovation and disruption has lead to new products and services as well as lasting changes in people‘s behaviours, needs and desires. It has also created completely new systems or deeply changed existing ones.
With my work I am aiming to create holistic experiences crossing the borders between the physical and the digital space, using my expertise from a product design, engineering and web background.
