MA work

Let feelings precede events. – Robert Bresson

An event is the locus of the now that interrupts and disturbs what is, that rises out of its own condition as a point of rupture. I am interested in the event of making a work as a site or force to disrupt and reveal. It is this relationship to time that interests me: the force of the present, its creative potentialities. But it is always a struggle with photography to inhabit the now, with its propensity for becoming a memento mori. I look to my art-making practice as a way to disrupt the past and remember the present.
