No Two Heads Are the Same: Why should hats be?

The current fashion industry mass production mode is based on standard production – most products are made in advance, designed to be average, but most people aren’t average.

In this project I want to talk about anthropometric ethic and research on how to design products for consumer driven, on-demand production. I chose a cap as the object to study; the current retention hat size category systems only help companies typically pair their sizing labels with numerical values. Those numbers don't tell you anything about how the hat  is actually shaped. Through adding the thickness of felt cap the CNC machine can engrave different people's head shapes into the cap to make the perfect fit. I want to use this unique symbol to celebrate the beauty of diversity.
