Man Group Drawing Prize 2011

Speculation between the real and the fantastic has driven a material exploration of the recognition of ambiguous forms and their interpretation as creature.

In the realm of interior decorative ornament, my multi-faceted body of work captures a handmade tactility and graphic strength, and champions the individual within a method of production.

I am interested in the everyday relationships we have with animals. The garden bird, when living in the city, is a rare sighting, becoming an almost mythical presence that exists as an amalgamation of real memories and the fantastic imaginary being.
