• Katie McGurk’s work responds to patriarchal structures that emerge within social online spaces through the agency of image. An Assembling and dissembling of representation is present within the work, a play on the language of the image. The physical, yet distant, and violent gestures of desire that emerge from a loss or a 'void' masked by representation and language itself, are broken down into a crude manipulation and fabrication of narrative and subjectification.
