Corporeal Awakening
A Cyborg Manifesto, written by Donna Haraway, is considered as an important theory branch of post-humanism. Haraway explained the breakdown of boundaries between physical and non-physical since the 20th Century that have allowed for her hybrid, cyborg myth.
Buddhists usually believe that humans have multiple bodies, and when we attain advanced states of meditation we can travel using a 'mind-made' body and leave our physical body. For Buddhists, they are always trying to break the frontier between physical and non-physical.
The similarity between the post-humanism and Buddhism is the starting point, which constructs the general aesthetic of this collection. Asian tribalism and technical futurism.

Kai Zhan is a cross-border practitioner. Fashion, video, installation, and performance have become his creative medium without exception. His research on aesthetics is based on the genes of architecture. Re-organising structuralism and art in different fields, and re-interpreting and defining existing concepts. Kai’s work is concealed and non-narrative continuity. Facing with the works directly, we can always find humanism hidden under the cold appearance. The works express indirectly the religion, bondage, rebellion, human rights and the future.
