MA work

PERHAPS so far as a place

This is a constellation of abstracted maps that seize my emotional connections and automatic responses to a place discovered on foot. Gestures and colours capturing detours, revisitations and impulses, forming images that reenact my journeys through London as well as present a new space, intimate and visceral.

  • My practice is responsive to a preconfigured space, by tying together movement and drawing.

I am interested in the point where restriction meets intuitive response. For me, this is intrinsically linked to perambulating: when I draw and when I walk, the decisions are made intuitively.

From the frenetic city environment to the meticulous observation of still life, my work results of the observation of the world around us explored on foot. Walking and pausing are acts that are not in line with the rush of our time. I reclaim the pause and the look as conscious and committed action. Walking even in the hectic environment of the city. Walking as a modus operandi.
