Glass Jar with Cork Lids, 2015
Glass, cork
35cm x 17cm (left) 22cm x 16.5cm (right) | Photographer: Dominic Tschudin
This work is a small offering of the potential that a material can fulfil, be it ceramics or glass. All of these objects function, and are intended to be interacted with daily.
Each object declares its own making; they declare the material from which they have been given form. This purposeful forming is apparent in each object.

Ceramics and glass is a versatile material that has inherent qualities too often ignored or hidden. My work seeks to make these qualities apparent, be that through firing temperatures, colour, or form.
It seems to me an opportunity missed to use these materials in a purely utilitarian fashion.
