When creating images I bring in themes and ideas that are informed by my background in film and photography. By treating the composition as a system, within a theatrical space, individual parts lend themselves to a larger whole. Figures often operate within the space and can become part of the structure. The textures and forms in my work are often reminiscent of the body, and are a means of making the interior the exterior. Just as the body has entry and exit points, I bring in and extrapolate themes and ideas informed by music, film and photography, which can then be accepted or rejected as required.
