Augmented Thinking

Augmented thinking is a collaborative knowledge space that redefines the way we explore, comprehend and share information in order to solve humanity's great challenges through collective intelligence.

The challenges humanity is facing like automation and unequal access to education/resources, are challenges of a “wicked” nature. They are system-level problems. Where we need collaboration, we are stuck with reductionist tools and an egocentric mindset from the last century. Now is the time to design new products & services that foster the exchange of ideas and insights. Tools that provide researchers, innovators and decision makers with a holistic view. Tools that both widen people’s horizons and deepen their knowledge. This is the mission of augmented thinking.

    MA Global Innovation Design, 2018

  • Introduction

I design and build natural interactions for product-service-systems. My focus is on augmenting human thinking, computational design and the future of work.

During my Masters in Global Innovation Design, I lived and worked at various locations around the world, including China, where I studied at Tsinghua University in Beijing, Korea, Japan, Bangkok and Singapore, where I studied at NTU and now in London at Augmented Thinking.

I use the lens of design & cinematography to explore – always two steps closer than comfortable – people, their culture, problems, processes, gestures, and touch points.

My method: Observe, abstract, transfer, extend local knowledge and apply it in new global contexts.

I prefer to create my own tools of thought, even if it increases the initial effort – only then my vision is not bound to what's available today. Working collaboratively with an ambitious, passionate team and making use of technology helps me to accelerate this process.

To innovate for me means to scout the edges of knowledge, a place where the real magic happens.
