With proper maintenance a house can last almost indefinitely. Unfortunately, most home maintenance is performed retroactively. Overlooked, issues grow silently, only noticed when they begin to affect everyday life. As a result their impact (and cost) can be massively inflated by the time they come to be fixed.

This is especially true for landlords. Separated from day-to-day living in the space, it can be difficult for them to notice these smaller issues and deal with them straightaway.

Sentinel learns to spot these tell-tale signs, and warns landlords so they can be fixed before they become bigger problems. Using a combination of existing hardware and the tenants themselves as sensors, Sentinel brings the capability of the future smart-home into the present.
