The Anthroprocene
Jie's work seeks to unravel a dialogue between the natural and the manmade in our Anthropocentric world today. Carefully crafted, her objects invite the viewers to contemplate their materials and making process. Wood and resin clash and merge to foreground humanity's profound impact on Earth. Their marble-like patterns are born out of the wrestling dance of the organic and the plastic in various experiments.
