MA work
MA work
During the last two years at the RCA my practice has developed significantly, reaching beyond the field of visual communication and into areas of strategic planning, event co-ordination and research. I consider myself a process designer as my work is very process and experience based - often culminating in events, exhibitions or activities.
My collection of work includes a research project exploring the print magazine industry, for which I organised a talk featuring the editors of The Wire, Little White Lies, Wrap and the now-defunct Grafik to speak at the RCA on the future of magazines, and a series of process books documenting my research.
I've also documented my planning, co-ordination and curation of the Visual Communication work-in-progress and final Show exhibitions. Taking ownership of these events in order to develop my abilities were challenging and valuable real-time learning experiences, and the process books attempt to manifest that ephemeral process into a physical, tangible form.
Other live events include running the Eady Forum with fellow students Jack Llewellyn and Joe Pielichaty, and senior tutor Adrian Shaughnessy. The Eady Forum is a fortnightly event series on contemporary graphic design and has developed a strong presence in the RCA events calendar due to its high profile guest speakers, workshops and exhibitions.
Following graduation I will be looking for roles involving strategy, planning, research or event co-ordination.
