THE MG EXPERIENCE

To show the future of driving as an experience and a hobbyist activity in an electrified and level 5 autonomous scenario where, as a necessity, driving is illegal on public roads for safety reasons. Not only will driving become a rare skill again but it will create an entire new economy of luxury driving resorts and experiences that many brands will tap into.

    MA Vehicle Design, 2018

  • Since graduating from Coventry University with a First Class bachelor’s degree in Automotive Design I worked for JPA Design in London designing premium aircraft interiors where I developed the business class product that is now flying for Singapore Airlines. I left JPA in 2016 and came to the RCA to further my career. During this time I have done sponsored projects for the RAC, IMDC, Jensen, CNH, SAIC, Bentley and now MG for my final major project. I won an internship with SAIC in Shanghai last summer on the exterior design team, whilst I was there I was tasked with some personal advanced mini projects but I also worked on some special edition production wheels and took part in a studio wide competition for a facelift project where one of my designs were in 3 chosen for progression. I then worked on the full size clay exterior with the lead designer. Before leaving China I presented a review to the Global Design Director Shao Jingfeng.
Looking towards the future this industry is on the verge of a great change with autonomy, electrification, new ownership paradigms, AI, Big Data and service led automotive companies. I want to be at the forefront of these changes, where over the years I can influence these new transport mediums and future generations of designers.
