ADS 2: Blackfriars, City of London
Travel Storeys
Why not use your oyster card as a library card on your daily commute? My proposal explores the theme of transience in the City of London. It reaffirms the relationship between the City and her garden suburbs by establishing a transient library network. Now travelling to/from the City becomes an opportunity for learning. The main book repository facility, sited at Blackfriars station, becomes a portal to understanding and navigating the ever-changing city. The typology of the garden is used as a catalyst for re-establishing the City’s contextual relationship to its riverfront.
