New Ways of Getting Lost

When intentionally transforming that image structure of a map that operates on the premise of a rule, is it still recognisable as a map, and to what extent does it look like a map still? Or, a pseudo-map? What is the meaning of the deformed chunks left when implicit visual languages are eliminated from the map? What is the role of these abstract images? Is an aesthetic or social message as interesting as the image itself?
