MA work
MA work
Over the course of the MA my work has transitioned from being design orientated to artistic. This has been a painful experience at times yet I am now creating work that is far more fulfilling and better suited to my character. There is a strong narrative strain running through all of my work, as I am fascinated by mythology and storytelling. I have become increasingly interested in exploring my own past and family lineage. I work in Textiles as it gives me the tools to materialise my thoughts with complexity, which I have yet to find in other mediums. By bringing together a variety of distinctive techniques such as appliqué, embroidery, digital printing and screen-printing I have created tapestries that depict the scope of my vision. It is my ambition to continue to push the scale and intricacy in the endeavour to form work that is prolific and monumental.
