SCARLET BR
The contrast of the Scottish Isles and the urban environment of London and Glasgow, my hometown, is the inspiration for this collection. My projects begin through a camera lens: capturing the often over looked details in our every day environments. I am drawn to subtle textures in concrete, speckles of graffiti, brightly painted architecture and layers of crumbling paint. Curiosity drives my design process: working between photography, paper collaging, knitting, printing, linking and dyeing. The exploration of these technical processes influence each other, leading to exciting discoveries and refined design ideas.
This collection of garments and textiles are made using the finest quality of yarns, each meticulously hand dyed. My sensitivity towards colour has allowed for a sophisticated yet bold palette. Through needle manipulation techniques on the flatbed machine, digital knitting on the Shima Seiki, silk screen printing and the application of heat, I have applied processes that inform how the fabric behaves and ultimately the effect of the garment on the body.
My design philosophy is simple: to create high quality, beautiful pieces of knitwear, designed and made to last beyond the fashion seasons. Inspired by ‘slow design’ and integrity, my designs are honest and considered.

I am a Knitted Textile Designer inspired by colour, texture and composition. Influenced by 'slow design' and integrity, my practice is honest and considered.Â
Photography is a core element of my work: I capture often overlooked details in our everyday environments.Â
Curiosity drives my projects and I enjoy working between disciples. I have strong technical skills across flat bed and digital knitting machines, dyeing and colour matching, printing processes and garment construction.Â
