Doomtown
Nevada Test Site was established on 11 January 1951 for the testing of nuclear devices. During some of these atomic bomb tests, the military constructed a fake town, which they filled with houses, dummies and cars. It was dubbed "Doom Town".
Inspired by Loomis Dean's photographs of the infamous "Doom Town", the garments are treated with acid, burned, overdyed and imprinted with numbers and letters relating to the objects found in Doom Town, amount of dyes and chemicals in the textile.
