Sentire
As a multi-disciplinary designer I am focused on 3D design and manufacture, with an interest in peoples’ responses to tactile and visually engaging surfaces. My current series of work entitled 'Sentire', in latin meaning 'to feel', is a trio of domesticated products including a coffee table, coat stand and lean-to stool with tactile engagement in mind. The work explores our relationship to the world around us in a post-digital age, where touch-based interaction decrease and therefore the value we place on the tangible is elevated and everyday object possess a 'super-tactility'.Â

Emma McCusker is a Mixed-Media designer currently studying for her MA degree in Textiles at the Royal College of Art. Her interests as a maker lie in exploring our human relationship to the material world around us, investigating our emotional responses to tactile engagements.
The surfaces and objects that Emma creates are instilled with playful and curious qualities, which prompt the user to interact with her work. An interdisciplinary approach to design gives her the opportunity to bring haptic concerns to the forefront of a range of projects and outcomes.
