MA work
Through the use of time-based media, installation/sculpture and printmaking, my work examines the elusive and the illusory. I offer the viewer traces of events that may be current, previous or have the potential to be experiences of what could be termed as ‘elusive moments’. That is, the fleeting moment of transition between the subconscious and conscious thoughts; the ephemeral that transpires into the precise moment of here and now. The elusive transpires in that moment of confronting, for instance, the illusion of a painted image as though it is real, in that moment of slippage. The illusory and the elusive provide channels of communication and connection, a momentary portal between the viewer, the work and the artist: the viewer bringing their experience and imagination to the work, thus completing the circuit.
