The biggest challenges we face cannot be neatly packaged and dealt with; they are multifaceted and intertwined with human nature. By exploring hypothetical possibilities through designed artefacts and experiences, we can recalibrate our perception of these monumental challenges.

The Energy Pilots is a research programme that explores new business models for the energy sector, acknowledging finance as a major impediment for low-carbon technology. The programme formulates experimental new business models and then pilots them in the public domain. This ongoing research has been presented to energy specialists — catalysing a discussion around the future of energy business and the associated implications.
