I believe in ‘honest’ design, whereby the constituent parts that make up our vehicles should be left naked, with the beauty coming in their construction and form rather than their finish and graphics. I believe that future vehicles can achieve a fresh aesthetic by greater emphasis being given to engineering considerations, such as ergonomics, powertrain packaging and aerodynamics. I propose a fundamental re-think in how today’s cars are both designed and used. Less sketching, more wind tunnel time, less clay modelling and more investment in the technology and materials we use to create our designs.
