Open House
Open House was an exhibition and parallel programme of live events, talks and performances at Delfina Foundation, an international artist residency and gallery in London. Open House was held on 20th and 21st May 2017 and reflected on the significance of artists’ residencies at Delfina Foundation over the last ten years, expanding on the traditional iteration of ‘Open House’, where the public are invited to wander through the interior of culturally significant buildings. Ten artists based in the UK and internationally produced a series of new, site-specific artworks (encompassing the digital, performative, gastronomical and sculptural, installed or staged throughout the building) and over a single weekend visitors were invited to explore the galleries private and domestic spaces. Open House fostered new lines of creative enquiry into the role of residency programmes in the UK and internationally, as well as the intersections between public and private in contemporary art today.
