Britons spent £31.bn while on holiday overseas. Chinese tourists alone brought £1.2bn worth of goods on our high streets.
At the same time, global air travel is growing year-on-year. According to the International Air Transport Association (IATA), there were 1.2bn global international air passengers in 2013. And of these 1.2bn travellers, it is estimated that only 50–80 per cent of their baggage allowance was used.
