Mindfulness of the Journey

It is essential to continue to develop new ways of allowing people to comfortably co-exist in these increasingly densely populated environments. During our busy daily life, we are unaware of ourselves and I wanted to take attention of our existence. This idea came from the feeling of protection and I observed that kids have always been toying with cushions like making castles and hiding under the blanket. Hiding under a blanket and wrapping up evokes protected and safe. From this point, this blanket cushion which is a human-centred design aims to ease the user. It is made from wool fibers. Because wool has exactly the right warm natural feelings to you.It is stuffed with polyester to make it light and soft, which offers high levels of insulation and a soft, tactile finish.

Human psychology, colours and textures are the main part of this project. From this point, Sufism is a source of inspiration to this collection.Creating an enclosed space helps to the user to focus on themselves to understand the real meaning of existence. Also, patterns are inspired by the movement of whirling dervish and Sufi music..Finally, Sufism is the common point of this design that connects human psychology and textile in the same project.

Creating an enclosed space provides a very public space where people really trying to sometimes attain some peace and quiet amidst all the chaos but really anywhere which is chaotic and public where someone might want to be private and quiet. A heightened awareness of our bodies, senses and materials can lead to a superior appreciation for the physical world.

  • I am a woven textile designer who intends to develop herself on interior spaces and keen the influence of design on people. I have practiced on materials and human senses. Material and texture research is the strongest part of my design side. As a designer, I am observing environments and investigating what is missing and what people requires. From this point, combining psychology with my designs is the main part of my design methodology. Every human being has a different taste but the background of our experiences, tastes and knowledge we are all human and we have got a soul. A little touch that creates awareness and happiness is the beginning of a great change. Sum up, to begin from the essence is my design philosophy
