The Bridge, Dolores Schlegel

The work is inspired by visionary writers, poets and fragments of personal images, collaged into a layered response, rich in metaphor, that evokes a dream-like time. It focuses on dreams, reality and illusion. The borders between worlds and countries are crossed and reality is transfigured into a place of wonder, a world of mystery and magic that slips into a sense of otherworldliness. The work aims to explore perception, a glimpse through a gap in the trees or through a misty veil and transports us into another space and dimension – another vivid universe.
