Injection moulded plastics
A central theme of my work is my interest in stretching the boundaries of common mass-production processes.
The _Polymer Light _is an LED desk lamp that makes use of visible gas springs, which facilitate a smooth movement. The plastic arms are solid, as the unique injection moulding process allows for a high wall thickness. The design celebrates plastic as a substantial material with high-value tactility.
The main focus of my _Par Chair _was the insert injection moulding process: a high-tech aramid mesh is fed directly into the curved seat and back area of the mould tool of the chair frame. This way, a lightweight mesh chair is finished fully automatically in a single step.
