As a result of the global recession, the UK’s unemployment rate is high. Consequently, policy makers have made it increasingly difficult for foreign students to be employed in the UK after their studies. The hardening of social and physical boundaries caused by the current situation is the challenge set in this project. The project addresses the consequences of territorial edges that give rise to ambiguous zones between one entity and another.
Can a boundary line be augmented to be perceived as a new territory, that utilises the Free University as a catalyst to blur the boundaries of the City Fringe?
