Table and kitchenware with inspiration from the arts and sciences of visual illusion. Illusions play with the boundaries of our eyes’ perceptions. Illusions are flat graphics, but my designs change this, connecting them to 3D functional objects.

My designs consider two methods: by interpreting the illusions as form, creating 3D objects straight from the illustrations (Mixing Bowls); and by using illusion to distort form, taking simple forms and adding pattern to manipulate the eye into seeing something else (Cups).

All designs are made with mass / batch production in mind.
