The natural world and a spiritual essence thereof, as well as states of consciousness in which dream and material realities interweave, are at the core of my personal and creative drive. This issue seems to me all the more urgent as technology and mass consumption are rapidly obliterating, not only much of Earth’s resources and working order, but also our sense of humanity in relation to, and as part of nature.
My practice centres on painting, drawing and printmaking. Process led, it is engaged with creating spaces and finding depths within and beyond the two dimensionality of the surface. This unveiling of illusory space becomes a place of meditation and revelation.
This space may also perform as a gateway to imaginative and psychological journeys for the viewer - transformational pathways between the visible and invisible, between internal and external, personal and collective realities; experiencing form as a continuous movement of energy and unfolding of meaning that is both essential and transformational.
The sum of our human senses lies beyond physics per se, I see this ‘sense’ as of great importance to our evolution of consciousness and understanding - my work revolves around this notion - it embodies lived experience, the objective world, and various states of consciousness as converging elements, articulated in notions of infinity and processes of transformation, a state of oneness and a seeking of equilibrium within a state of polarity and flux.
