Sophi

New secondary school classroom teachers are under a lot of pressure to learn how to deliver outstanding lessons from the moment they start initial teacher training. Sophi is a platform for self-reflection and a community network, which supports new teachers to learn what works for them, faster.

Unlike existing methods for self-reflection, and support networks, Sophi is light and critical. It focusses planning around the needs each new teacher has with teaching and learning. And it helps to utilise the expertise of many more people within a new teachers professional community.

  • Some values I have as a service designer

    Break boundaries, not doors

Work with others to make an impact

It's more complicated than you think

Don't wait to be told what to do

    Respect other people's opinions

    Test what makes sense

If they don't understand, you don't make sense

    Ask for forgiveness, not permission

    Listen first, then speak

    It's about outcomes, not outputs
