Union of African States
The New York World's Fair (1964-1965) Pavilion of Africa designed by Tom John and architects Kahn & Jacobs claimed to display the future vision of Africa.Â
Rather what took form bore no reference to the vision of Africa discussed six months prior at the Organisation of African Unity Conference (May 1963) in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.Â
This new proposal for the Pavilion of Africa stages an alternative history of the Organisation of African Unity Conference with an undocumented prelude to Kwame Nkrumah's 'Unite now or perish' speech describing the political impact of a unified African currency.

Christopher Lutterodt-Quarcoo’s work takes form as installations and films, using sound as a device to blur the line between fact and fiction. Research based, intricate narratives explore alternative or lost histories and unusual accounts, materialised using cinematic devices and religious conventions provoking an inquisition of actuality.Â
The works are revealed through an experience of a specific individual or psyche, allowing for the presence of reverence and the ineffable.
