MA work
In my work I examine our experience of modernist architecture. The paintings focus on seemingly mundane architectural artefacts that bear the marks of both human and natural interventions. Fragments of architecture are enlarged, often beyond recognition, emphasising their visual qualities.
The paintings are combinations of found images and photographs taken by myself. These works are a balance between the act of painting and the urge to depict reality.
