Curses

A series of boxes cast in lead.

They are solid. They don’t open.

Palm-sized and amulet-like, they ask to be carried about as little burdens.

They talk about heirlooms and genetics; the passing down of undesirable traits and hereditary madness. About containment, concealment, secrecy, Freudian repression and not being able to forget.

They cast shadows like guilty stains.
