‘A state is not a mere society, having a common place, established for the sake of exchange. Political society exists for the sake of noble actions, and not of mere companionship.’— Aristotle

I speculate on the evolution of architectural typology for the ‘Big Society’. Camden Town Hall is fragmented and reintegrated within normative conditions of urban life; the park and the shopping mall. The newly activated public realm prompts citizen engagement with the local political institutions that govern their lives.

Parallel investigations included construction of an event space installation and photographic devices that distort views of the built environment and challenge preconceptions.
