The practice of reproduction with emphasis on the importance of making implies an examination of the reason of things. Form versus function. Processes of deconstruction precede all processes of construction. The exacting logic implied by the use of one substance (paper) offers just a skin of information and an aesthetic of possible failure. These sculptures are not fit for purpose. The uncanny union of functionality and it being 'faked', creates a curious conceptual short-circuit. The dislocation of the object being reproduced with its reproduction is marked by decisions dictated by the medium. Not copies, but translations from life.
